The Pentatonix (PTX) composed of five members— Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola. The group started in 2011 in Arlington, Texas, the same year when the group got the stint in the NBC talent show “Sing Off” where they landed as grand prize winner.
Meanwhile Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart and Billboard 200 in 2013 gave spots for the group’s third album “PTX Vol.II) landing No. 1 and No. 10 respectively. ACapella song “Daft Punk” in the other hand won at the 57th Grammy Awards.
PTX’s musical style offers meticulously arranged covers of pop hits with blends of low bass and percussive vocals which are most likely appreciated and loved by Filipinos.
