EDSA Anniversary Road Closure Angers Netizens

Metro Manila’s busiest road, the Epifanio De Los Santos Avenue (EDSA) is the site of the world’s peaceful revolution during the year 1986 and as part of the anniversary celebration of the event, the MMDA decided to implement road closure on Thursday, February 25, 2015.

The EDSA Road Closure angers netizens as they vent their frustrations on various social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. During the EDSA celebration, not everyone walking along EDSA were there to join the festivities, most of them were affected by the traffic caused by the road closure.

The national government’s decision to keep this year’s EDSA Revolution anniversary as a working holiday also frustrates netizens and met with little amusements by workers.

Netizens also found out that during their morning communes most parts of Metro Manila’s main arterial highway had been closed to traffic, so they contemplated whether authorities stopped to consider the effects caused by the road closures on commuters.
