Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles, the depending champion of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball will try to secure the first finals berth and gain a thrice-to-beat incentive in the Season 77 of the Women’s Volleyball. The Lady Eagles will go up against its fiercest rival, the De La Salle University in the UAAP women’s volleyball Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Ateneo vs. La Salle volleyball game will be held at around 4:00 PM, with the Lady Spikers serving as the biggest stumbling block for the Lady Eagles’ bid for a 14-game winning streak.
A win for the La Salle Lady Spikers will make life easier for the five remaining teams contending for the last two semi-finals berth, who may otherwise be dragged into a long step-ladder format in the event of an Ateneo victory.
Ateneo is on its way to a 14-game sweep, as the team simply focusing on enjoying the game despite being undermanned. The Lady Eagles is currently hit by injury bug which makes the Lady Spikers being favored to win in the match-up between the finalists of the past three seasons.
The Ateneo Lady Eagles came off from a sweet victory against the University of the East with the final score at 25-22, 25-17, 26-24, while the La Salle Lady Spikers also won on the same day as it hammered out an easy 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 victory over Adamson.
