Russell Westbrook Named as NBA All Star MVP Leading the West with 41 Points

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook led all scorers in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night (Monday morning Manila time) as the West All Stars defeated the East All Stars with the final score at 163-158. Russell Westbrook topscored for his team with 41 points, a point shy to break the record set by All-Star’s legendary NBA player Wilt Chamberlain during the 1962 game.

The OKC Thunder point guard, Russell Westbrook had a record 27 points by halftime and closed out the scoring with two free throws was voted as the 2015 NBA All Star Most Valuable Player (MVP).

James Harden of the Houston Rockets added with 29 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the West All Stars, which build a 20-point lead in the first half and then pulled away to win the game after the score was tied at 148-all, with just four minutes remaining.

The East All Stars was led by NBA MVP LeBron James who finished with 30 points but couldn’t lead his team to victory in his favorit NBA Arena. James was well supported by Atlanta’s Kyle Korver who made seven 3-pointers and scored with 21 points for the East, while Washington’s John Wall added with 19 points.

International basketball superstar and Spain’s most prominent player Pau Gasol won the jump ball against his brother Marc to begin the Al Star Game featuring the two siblings who played East and West All Stars respectively.
