The University of the Philippines’ (UP) Streetdance Club retained their crown as they were declared as the UAAP Season 77 Street Dance Competition Champion, the title they last won during the year 2013. The team set a high bar with their energetic performance that showcased how the squad was in tune with each other while still giving individual dancers a chance to shine.
The UP Streetdance Club was the third performer of the day and they were judged based on creativity, showmanship and entertainment value, attire, variety of styles, overall choreography, spacing, formation and staging, musicality, timing, technique, difficulty, and their execution of four required styles.
The University of the Philippines finished with a total score of 178.0 points to take their second championship title. The Company of Ateneo Dancers (CADS) which scored 167.3 points, took home the second place honors, their best performance ever since placing second in 2012 and 2010.
The former champion of the competition, La Salle Dance Company settled for third with a grand total of 167.0 points. La Salle won the even in 2010 and 2012 and placed second in 2013.
The Adamson University’s CAST finished fourth with 160.4 points followed by FEU Dance Company with 151.3 points, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe with 143.7 points, UE with 137 points, and NU with 126.5 points.
