Popular Filipino rock band Kamikazee announced their break up on Sunday, January 25, 2016 through their official social media account on Facebook as they posted a video clip giving thanks to their fans who supported them for the past few years of being together.
Kamikazee is best known their hit songs such as “Narda,” “Chiksilog” and “Wala” which were considered as some of the country’s most popular rock songs of our generations.
The group made their farewell via a video posted on Facebook and has gone viral for the past few hours since it was posted on Sunday.
Kamikazee worked together for the past 14 years producing memorable Pinoy rock songs. On their announcement the band noted “Bale ngayon, nagdesisyon po kaming lima na ngayong 2015, ito na muna po ang huling taon na magkakasama tayo, dahil gusto naming subukan ‘yung buhay buhay sa labas ng banda,” frontman Jay Contreras said.
Although the band is now disbanded, they assured their fans that the break up was a decision made by all the members and not because of an argument among them.
The Pinoy rock band Kamikazee is composed of Jay Contreras, Jomal Linao and Led Tuyay on guitars, Jason Astete on bass, and Allan “Bords” Burdeos on drums.
