The country’s weather bureau, PAGASA, released the latest update of the Tropical Storm Amang whose international name Mekkhala as it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, January 15, 2015. As of 4:00 AM today, Bagyong Amang was estimated based on all available data at 950 kilometer Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Bagyong Amang has packed a maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph. Northeast monsoon affecting Luzon.
PAGASA forecasts that Bagyong Amang will be at 640 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar tomorrow morning. On Saturday morning it is expected to be 380 km East of Legazpi City, Albay and on Sunday morning it is forecasts to be at 340 km East of Infanta, Quezon.
PAGASA forecasts that Caraga and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains with possible occurrence of thunderstorms.
Cagayan Valley and Cordillera will have cloudy skies with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated light rains.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains with possible occurrence of thunderstorms.
