Kapamilya award-winning actor Coco Martin, who is notable for his dramatic roles, will join his long-time friend, actor and comedian Vice Ganda in their first co-starring comedy movie.
On the sidelines of the joint thanksgiving party of his horror movie “Feng Shui” and Vice Ganda’s “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” on Friday January 9, 2015, the former “Ikaw Lamang” star said that people will got to know more about their friendship’s story in the still-untitled film.
“Kumbaga sa mga taong hindi pa lubusang nakakakilala sa aming dalawa, kung paano kami naging kaibigan, dito niyo talaga kami makikilala,” he said.
Coco Martin is expecting also to have a fun shooting with Vice Ganda, whom he consider as his best friend. He also said that the project is very special to him because it’s their first collaboration.
“Expected na namin [na magiging magaan ang pagtatrabaho namin]. Itong movie na ‘to, napaka espesyal sa amin kasi ‘yung collaboration, nanggaling sa aming dalawa ‘yung konsepto,” he said.
According to the 33-year-old actor, the upcoming film will open in theaters this year. The director and the producer of the movie was not yet announced, however.
Vice Ganda said also in a separate interview that he is confident that their movie will become a big hit in box-office. He is already claiming that it will be successful, just like their entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
According to Star Cinema, “Feng Shui” has earned 225 million, while “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” earned 415 million, as of January 9, 2015, making it as the top 2 leading movies in MMFF.
