The country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines announced that they will be cancelling a total of 71 flights on January 15 and 19, 215 to give way to the arrival and departure of the Roman Catholic Church leader Pope Francis at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). The company already advised all passenger who booked flights during the said date to call PAL Reservations (632-8558888) for rebooking and/or refund assistance.
According to the management of PAL, all affected tickets may be rebooked for travel within 30 days from the original travel date without penalty, provided tickets are still valid. All tickets may be refunded without penalty and rerouting will be allowed under certain conditions.
Affected passengers of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights can also check their official website (www.philippineairlines.com) or through the official Facebook Page of PAL for updates on the status of their flights.
Aside from the canceled flights that are listed below, passengers are also advised to allot more time in going to the airport during Pope Francis visit to the country due to road closures and the anticipated traffic from well-wishers who will line up in the streets around the airport.
The Philippine Airlines also announced earlier that the company is also the official Papal carrier of Pope Francis’ first pastoral visit to the Philippines.
Aside from PAL, the other airlines, Cebu Pacific and Tiger Air Philippines already announced the cancellation of domestic and international flights during Pope Francis visit to Manila.
