Mark Cando will proceed to the next round of the country’s most popular singing competition, The Voice of the Philippines Season 2, after he successfully defeated the Bicolano balladeer Mark Avila during the Sunday’s episode of The Voice. The two Team Apl.de.Ap members performed the song “This I Promise You.”

The two Team Apl.de.Ap “heartthrobs” showcased their singing abilities during the Battle Rounds, to the delight of the coaches who enjoyed their performance. The three judges, Coach Lea, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo agreed that Mark Cando was the better performer among the two.
According to the coaches, Mark Avila seemed to be having a difficult time in reaching the song’s high notes, the song chosen piece is one of the most popular song ever produced by the US boy band “‘Nsync.”
At the end of their performance, the decision was made and Coach Apl.de.Ap decided to keep Mark Cando with his team and will moved on to the next round of the competition, the joining Suy Galvez and Bradley Holmes as part of Team Apl.de.Ap.
The show’s host Toni Gonzaga announced that Mark Avila was up for grab and already available for a steal but none of the three judges decided to steal him from Team Apl.de.Ap, so he was eliminated from the competition.
