Local Government Unit (LGUs) of various areas across the Philippines already declared suspension of classes on Friday, December 5, 2014 due to the threat posed by typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit). Based upon PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin, issued at around 5:00 AM today, Bagyong Ruby was spotted at 485 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar with a maximum sustained winds of 215 kph and gustiness of up to 250 kph moving West Northwest at 13 kph.

SUPER-TYPHOON
The latest weather disturbance which will hit the Philippines, Bagyong Ruby or Hagupit was already declared as a super typhoon by the Hawaii-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) of the US Navy.
PAGASA forecasts that Eastern Visayas, CARAGA Region, the provinces of Sorsogon, Masbate and Northern Cebu including Cebu City and the islands of Bantayan and Camiguin, and Romblon will have rains with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.
The Regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos will be cloudy with light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
