According to Tacloban City Vice-Mayor Jerry Yaokasin noted that more than a thousand failies remain in over 30 coastal barangays that could be hit by tropical cyclone Hagupit or Bagyong Ruby.

Tacloban City already declared that part of their preparation is to implement forced evacuation, once the LGU know the path of Bagyong Ruby. There is also a possibility that even Yolanda evacuees currently living in transitional shelters will be evacuated to safer areas.

The Vice Mayor of Tacloban City also said that the city’s Astrodome will house some of the evacuees while local officials identify other areas. Some evacuation centers constructed in the aftermath of Yolanda have yet to be completed.

During the deadly supertyphoon Yolanda, over 6,000 people were killed while hundreds more remain missing in the Philippines after the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan).

According to PAGASA there’s still a possibility that the typhoon will not make a landfall in the country, the estimate track of Hagupit will be announced by the weather bureau tonight.
