Pope Francis to Dine with Five Bohol Earthquake Survivors

A Roman Catholic church leader from the province of Bohol confirmed to the media that a total of five victims of the devastating earthquake that hits Bohol last year will dine with the leader of the billion strong Roman Catholics worldwide, Pope Francis, during the Pope’s visit to the Philippines this coming coming January 2015.

The announcement was revealed by Reverend Father Felix Warli Salise, director of the Diocese of Tagbilaran-Social Action Center, which according to him, he and parish priests in the affected areas personally selected the people who will share lunch with the Pope based on their experiences following the powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hits Bohol.

Right now, the identities of the chosen five survivors were temporarily withheld for security reasons according to the officials who made the announcement. The five survivors experienced the worst calamities of their lives, one of them even lost his/her entire family during the quake.

The prelate who made the announcement also noted that the survivors came from different parishes damaged by the earthquake, including the Holy Cross Parish in Maribojoc, San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Tubigon, Our Lady of Light Paris in Loon, San Agustine Paris in Sagbayan and Our Lady of Holy Rosary Parish in Antiquera, Bohol.

The announcement of the five earthquake survivors who will dine with Pope Francis this coming January was first revealed by Reverend Father Felix Warli Salise through Radyo Veritas.

In an earlier report the Roman Catholic heads in the Philippines reported that there will be more than 20 survivors of super typhoon Yolanda and the Bohol earthquake will set down with Pope Francis and have launch with the highest Roman Catholic official worldwide at the Archbishop Residence in Palo, Leyte this coming January 17, 2015.
