Andy Murray & Maria Sharapova Made a Losing Start on IPTL Philippines

World ranked Tennis player Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova made a losing start on day one of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) in the Philippines, despite being known as the top seeded team in the competitions, featuring some of the greatest and most popular tennis players around the world.

Any Murray and Maria Sharapova is playing with the team Manila Mavericks, they lost in the mixed doubles. Aside from Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova, team members of the Manila Mavericks also include Tsonga, Flipkens, Nestor, Moya and Huey.

The IPTL Four Team event takes place in Manila, Singapore, Delhi and Dubai with the finals scheduled this coming December 13, 2014. Aside from the Manila Mavericks other teams includes the Indian Aces, Singapore Slammers and UAE Royals which were composed of some of the most popular tennis players worldwide.

Some of the most popular tennis players participating in the International Tennis League includes Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. The competition also features former world champions including Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Goran Ivanisovic and Pat Rafter.
