Kathryn Bernardo Confirms Remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” with Daniel Padilla

The highly anticipated remake of one of the country’s most popular soap opera “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” is now official as one of the main characters of the series, Kathryn Bernardo, confirmed officially the remake of the series that put Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa as two of the most recognized love teams in Southeast Asia. The phenomenal teleserye will be remade by Kathryn Bernardo and on-screen love team Daniel Padilla.

The 18-year-old Kathryn Bernardo confirmed the remake of “Pangako Ko ‘Yo,” during a press conference held on Tuesday as part of her endorsement deal. During the interview, Kathryn Bernardo noted that she will be doing a movie with DJ and she thinks it will air this coming February 2014.

Rumors spreading online for the past few days that the Kapamilya actress known to the showbiz world as the country’s “Teen Queen,” as part of a major projects by ABS-CBN. The confirmation of Kathryn Bernardo ended the speculations that she will portray the role once played by Kristine Hermosa.

The original series “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” is considered as one of the most successful series of the Kapamilya Channel which was aired during the year 2000 up to 2002, spanning a total of 476 episodes for 30 minutes each episode.

The soap opera was shown or currently showing in various international TV networks across Asia and Africa such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand Singapore, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, Namibia, Zambia, China, and Botswana.

Meanwhile, according to Kathryn Bernardo during an interview, she is so excited over the prospect of bringing the pioneering “teleserye” to a new generation. She was quoted as saying “Wow! Grabe, sobrang saya talaga. Kasi parang lahat tayo, alam ‘yung ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo.’ Walang taong hindi nakapanood no’n, bata palang ako noon,” she said.

The “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” series features the love story of Yna formerly portrayed by Kristine Hermosa and Angelo (Jericho Rosales). The lovers were anguished over the discovery that they might be half-siblings. The series became the most successful TV series ever-produced in the Philippines.
