For the NU Bulldogs it’s a win or go home for the team headed by coach Eric Altamirano who succeeded earlier in bringing the Bulldogs to the UAAP Finals after four decades absence.

The FEU Tamaraws is currently leading in the best-of-three series after they won the Game One of the finals through the leadership of veteran RR Pogoy, but NU center Alfred Aroga, NU’s hero against Ateneo, is confident that his team can deliver a big comeback against the FEU Tamaraws.

The game 2 of the UAAP Finals will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with the Far Eastern University (FEU) aiming to win its first UAAP Men’s basketball title since 2005. During the Game One of the UAAP Finals, the Tamaraws defeated the Bulldogs with the final score at 75-70.

Based upon the records of the UAAP, since the year 1994, the winner of Game 1 of the UAAP Finals has gone on to win the title 15 out of 20 times. The last time that the FEU won the UAAP title was way back Season 68, when PBA star Arwind Santos led the Tamaraws over De La Salle University in the Finals.

Meanwhile the NU Bulldogs has not won the UAAP title since the year 1954. Prior to Game 2 of the UAAP Finals, the UAAP is set to award the winners of the individual honors this season.

Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena set to receive the Most Valuable Player trophy while Ateneo rookie Arvin Tolentino will receive the Rookie of the Year trophy. Kiefer Ravena will be joined by La Salle’s Jeron Teng, FEU’ Mac Belo, Ateneo’s Chris Newsome and UST’s Karim Abdul in the Mythical Five Selections.
