Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) will feature the life story of “The Voice Kids” grand finalist Juan Karlos Labajo this coming Saturday, September 27, 2014.
The 13-year-old half-German and half-Filipino singer who won as Laica Gairanod’s second runner-up in hit singing competition, The Voice Kids will be the one who will portray his character.
In the video uploaded by the longest-running drama anthology in its official Facebook page, MMK noted that Juan Karlos has been raised out of poverty.
According to the accompanying caption to the video it posted, the young singer who has been living with his grandmother and uncle shared what motivates him to pursue a career in entertainment industry.
”Akala po ng iba, mayaman ako dahil po sa itsura ko. Pero ang totoo po, sa Cebu ang dami po naming utang, nangungupahan lang kami at palipat-lipat ng bahay,” he said.
But before he conquered the world as he joined The Voice Kids, Juan Karlos Labajo had experieced a very traumatic incident. His mother died , five days before he auditioned for the competition.
The September 27 episode of MMK also stars with Phoemela Baranda, Janus Del Prado, Miguel Vergara, Jeric Raval and Ces Quesada.
The upcoming episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya is directed by Garry Fernando and written by Benson Logronio and Arah Jell Badayos.
