A Filipino working as a hospital janitor in Illinois does not just work as a janitor. In his free time, he doing extra effort to be able to provide the calming effects of musics to the employees, visitors and patients in the said hospital. This is why he was featured on Good Morning America.
Good Morning America is an American morning television show. The said program features news, interviews, weather forecasts and some other special-interest stories. It was introduced by the ABC News.
During his break time, Rolando Maaba sets aside his work as a janitor and gives those people who are in the hospital a sort of entertainment for a short while. After which it had caught the attention of ABS News specifically the Good Morning America.
On his interview on the show, he said that “The bottom line is I want to be helping guests who are waiting for their relatives after an emergency or a surgery and they’re worried.” In other words, he don’t want people in the hospital to get worried instead be relaxed even just for a while.
The news said that 55-year-old Maaba had moved to Rockford since 1999. But he just started to work in the hospital last year.
Maaba is known in the hospital to be the “Piano Man” as well as being the “joker” in the workplace. That man who never failed to put smiles on his face.
Based on him, having many problems did not stop him from smiling. He considers it as a part of his life.
At the moment, Maaba’s effort seemed to be paid off in which he now gets to play the piano every Wednesday night at the local restaurant. According to him, he is hoping to continue his talents as long as he lives.
