The defending champion of the UAAP’s Cheer Dance Competition, National University (NU) Pep Squad captured their back-to-back gold medals in one of the UAAP’s highly anticipated event. The NU Pep Squad performed a difficult and amazing, Native American-themed routine based upon the widely popular Pocahontas movie.

The NU Pep Squad was the last performer during the Cheer Dance Competition held at the jam-packed Araneta Coliseum on Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2014, but the pep squad saved the best for last among the eight performing schools in the CDC 2014.
The Native American costumes paired with their hair styled in mohawks, captured the audience’s anticipation of the NU’s performance as they perfectly executed their tosses and their well-choreographed dance moves. The NU Pep Squad has a total score of 667.5 points to retain the crown and brought home a whopping P340,000 cash prize.
Perennial powerhouse and former back-to-back CDC champion, the UP Pep Squad came in second place with a total score of 658 points while the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe placed third with a total points of 625.
The UP Pep Squad brought home a cash prize worth 200,000 while the UST’s Salinggawi Dance Troupe won a total cash prize worth P140,000.
