To stop text scams, Globe Telecom had implemented the validation process of “Share-a-Load” transactions.
With this, Globe said that those customers who did Share-a-Load transactions will be asked via text message to confirm their transaction. This said confirmation aimed to stop the increase of text scams. This is when customers are trick to do transactions on Share-a-Load without giving asking them. This is based on ABS-CBN News.
This is the said validation message of the Globe.
- You are about to share P(–foul word(s) removed–) load with 0916(–foul word(s) removed–)(–foul word(s) removed–)X. Reply YES within 5 minutes to proceed. P1/transaction. Report text scams to www.globe.com.ph/stospam.”
- The validation message would come from 2652(–foul word(s) removed–)(–foul word(s) removed–)(–foul word(s) removed–) where the last 9 digits are the transaction number. Replying to the message is free of charge.
Those customers who fail to reply in the span of 5 minutes will receive this message: “We’re sorry, but your Share-A-Load/Promo transaction has been cancelled because the response time exceeded 5 minutes. Please try again. Thanks!”
According to the Globe Senior Vice-President for Corporate Communications who is Yoly Crisanto, “We want to continuously protect our customers against these scams. By putting in place this additional measure, we would help prevent our customers from unwittingly undertaking Share-A-Load transactions.”
The said text scam is done in which customers are unaware that the number 2 added before the 10 digit mobile number of the recepient actually means that they already did the Share-a-Load transaction. Perhaps, this said text confirmation can really be an assurance for those Globe users.
