Pope Francis Would Possibly Ride In A Jeepney In His Visit In The Country

Pope Francis is set to visit the country next year by January. It’s organizers are actually thinking of making his visit with a Filipino flavor by letting him ride in Jeepney. The jeepney will serve as his service while he is in the country.

His visit is set on January 15-19, 2015 specifically. He is expected to visit the areas devastated by the super Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013.

But as of this moment, there’s not yet confirmations for that thing. It is just one of their options says Former Ambassador to the Holy See Henrietta de Villa.

“Nothing is fixed yet… I’m not actually the one in charge of this but I think there are suggestions for a jeepney that is open on top,” he said according on the article posted in CBCP News.

The idea somewhat derived on the Pope’s recent visit in South Korea. In there, he asked for a compact car as his vehicle in his whole visit in Korea. However, they also confirmed that Pope did not request for the same thing here in PH. In addition, all arrangements for his visit in the country will still be finalized until November 2014.

There’s still that Vatican team who will still inspect and formalize it.

If ever this will be pushed through within the span of 2 months, De Villa say that they can still do it. They can still build the popemobile in his visit here in the country.

Jeepneys are known to be the cheapest and the most common vehicle used in the country as a form of transportation.
