The two filmmakers and video producers JT Singh and Rob Whitworth were given permission by the North Korean government to film in Pyongyang, the capital of the communist North Korea, but they should avoid “construction sites, underdeveloped locations or military personnel.”

The North Korean people may be disconnected from the outside world or their regime had stringent restrictions on foreign visitors to their country but based upon the video posted above, the capital city of Pyongyang and its people are thriving and booming in terms of infrastructures, business and education.

Most westerners of their Asian neighbors were accustomed to a gloomy narrative about the country, such as the famine, shortage of electricity and the North Korea’s draconian legal system and scarcity of modern luxuries but what we have seen on the video are opposite to what we expect of North Korea.

Although the video producers were state-sponsored, they were able to create an extensive footage of the city to create a time-lapse video of its people and sights. The video creations of JT Singh and Rob Whitworth showcased the lifestyles of the North Korean people despite the fact that an obvious restrictions were given to the pair in creating one of their masterpiece.
