Manhunt For 8 Escaped Inmates From Quezon City Jail

Manhunt is on for the 8 inmates who have escaped the Quezon City Jail before dawn this Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

According to the news, the escape happened at early dawn however no further information are given. The 8 inmates escaped from Bureau of Jail Management and Penology district in Gumaca Quezon City jail.

The said inmates have cases of robbery, car theft, and murder. The inmates have cut off the metal bars of one of the windows of their cell using a saw. They have escaped through a power blackout as the result of Typhoon Glenda that hit the Quezon province. It had caused darkness that enable them to escape at about 1 a.m.

The army soldiers have chased the escaped inmates but they failed because of darkness. Though it is said that the place had an electric generator, it was still not that enough to light up the whole compound.

The police and the jail guards of BJMP had immediately launched special unit that will be hunting the escaped inmates.

The 8 escaped inmates are identified. Namely they are, Arguelles Florante, Freddie Nicol, Joseph Alvarez, Zeus Nierva, Joel Senosin, Anthony Revilla, Gerald dela Cruz, and Alejandro Villa.

Another report says that one of the inmates have already been recaptured. However, it is not yet confirmed if who among the 8 escaped inmates have been recaptured.
