The much-talked-about romantic film “She’s Dating the Gangster” starring the popular young love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla has already earned a whooping P15 million on its first day of showing. The movie was officially released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2014.
Star Cinema’s advertising and promotions manager Mico del Rosario announced the news through the image-sharing site Instagram on Thursday July 17, 2014. “P15 Million yesterday alone! Maraming maraming maraming salamat po!!! Love, #teamgangster #shesdatingthegangster,” he wrote along with the photo.
Kathryn Bernardo took also the micro-blogging site Twitter to thank the people who already watched the movie. “Thank you so much sa lahat ng nanuod na 🙂 tweet me your favorite scenes sa movie ha!,” she said.

“She’s Dating the Gangster”, a film adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same title, centers the unique love story of Athena Dizon (Kathryn Bernardo) who unwittingly agreed to pretend as the girlfriend of the Kenji delos Reyes (Daniel Padilla), who wanted to win back the heart of his ex-girlfriend. Their plan will change as they will realize that their pretend relationship will eventually will turn into a real one.
The movie will also feature the timeless love team of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, who will have a special participation in the film.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, “She’s Dating the Gangster”, is still showing in more than 150 cinemas nationwide.
