The Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed on Monday, July 14, 2014 the slashed wrist of controversial model Deniece Cornejo who attempted to commit suicide after court dismissed the case she filed against actor-host Vhong Navarro.

The 23-year-old co-accused in Vhong Navarro’s serious illegal detention case earlier made headlines after she attempted to take her own life by slashing her wrist with the use of an eyebrow trimmer.
According to her legal counsel Atty. Salvador Panelo, his client slashed her wrist to “call attention from the injustice she is suffering.” The slashed marks left an initials “WR”.
In a text message sent by her grandfather Rod Cornejo to ABS-CBN showbiz oriented talk show “The Buzz”, he shared that the letters stands for “women’s rights.”
Deniece Cornejo who is now detained at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City is one of the accused in the serious illegal detention case filed by Vhong Navarro who has been charged in relation with his mauling incident last January 22, 2014.
Deniece Cornejo has yet to air any statement regarding her attempted suicide as of press time. Meanwhile Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz, other accused in Vhong Navarro’s case are still placed in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Manila.
PNP announced that they will be conducting an investigation regarding Deniece Cornejo’s suicide attempt since she has been convicted as the principal suspect in the case of Vhong Navarro.
