UAAP Season 77 Full Coverage to be Featured on ABS-CBN Sports+Action

The highly anticipated Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 77 will start on Saturday, July 12, 2014, the Kapamilya Channel announced that the full coverage of the country’s premier collegiate basketball competition will be aired live via ABS-CBN Sports+Action.

UAAP Season 77

This year’s theme of the UAAP is “Unity in Excellence,” featuring the best basketball players in the top universities in the country. The host of the 77th Season of the UAAP is the University of the East (UE).

The UAAP’s students, athletes, teachers, and professors are set to gather in the spectacle of the pursuit of excellence in the field of athletics as the UAAP season begins with the Mens’ and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.

The opening ceremony of UAAP will be aired live on ABS-CBN Sports+Action (formerly Studio 23) starting at around 12:30 PM, the show will be followed by a Primer on the eight teams of the UAAP Men’s Basketball, the most popular sports games of the UAAP.

The UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament will feature the eight official teams: Adamson Falcons, Ateneo Blue Eagles, De La Salle Green Archers, FEU Tamaraws, NU Bulldogs, UP Fighting Maroons, UST Growling Tigers and the host squad, the UE Red Warriors.

On the first day of the UAAP Men’s basketball tournament the De La Salle Green Archers will go up against the FEU Tamaraws in the main game, right after the UE Red Warrriors vs. UP Fighting Maroons in the first game of the UAAP which will start at around 2:00 PM.

The UAAP games schedule will be held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, the game will be shown live through ABS-CBN Sports+Action while the replays will played on Balls on SkyCable Channel 34 and on Destiny Channel 36.

ABS-CBN Sports+Action will air all UAAP men’s basketball games, including the 11am DLSU-ADMU face-off on July 20. UAAP men’s basketball games will continue the Wednesday-Saturday-Sunday schedule adopted last year. Same-day replays are on Balls on Skycable Channel 34 and on Destiny Channel 36.
