Fr. Romeo Obach, the controversial priest in Cebu was suspended by the Redemptorist Congregation with his ministerial duties, the priest became the hottest topics on social media after he berated a single mother publicly during a baptism ceremony in Cebu.

Although Fr. Romeo Obach of the Sacred Heart Chaplaincy in Jagobiao, Mandaue City, already apologized to the 17-year-old single mother, by writing an official letter intended for the single mom and her family, the victim are determined to press charges against the priest.

According to the statement issued by the Redemptorist Congregation, they suspended the ministerial duties of Fr. Obach pending an internal investigation and (–foul word(s) removed–)sment. The suspension of ministerial duties of a priest means that the prelate cannot say Mass and administer the sacraments, according to retired Caloocan Bishop Deogracias.
