One of the most popular Filipino race car driver, Enzo Pastor, dies in a shooting incident in Quezon City on Thursday night, June 12, 2014. The 32-year-old Pinoy racer was shot by a motorcycle-riding in tandem while travelling from Batangas to Clark International Speedway.
According to reports posted by major TV networks, GMA and ABS-CBN news, the Filipino racer was riding in a a vehicle with license plate WSC 331 at Visayas Avenue corner Congressional Avenue when the killer riding on a motorcycle shot Enzo Ferdinand Pastor and his assistant Paolo Salazar.
The international racer who represented the Philippines in various competitions was on his way to Clark to prepare for the final leg of the Asian V8 Championship.
According to Enzo Pastor’s assistant who was with him during the incident, the motorcycle suddenly approached their vehicle and the gunman opened fire. Both Pastor and Salazar were brought to a hospital but Enzo Pastor died from gunshots to the head and neck while Salazar was injured.
Based upon the latest police reports of the shooting incident involving Enzo Pastor, they speculated that the gunmen were targeting Enzo Pastor himself as there were no possessions missing from the victims.
Enzo Pastor is one of the participant in the Asian V8 Championship organized by his father Tom Pastor. He was the first Filipino and Asian awarded with the prestigious Nascar Hall of Fame at the home of Nascar in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
