Broadcast Journalist Tony Calvento has revealed on his official Facebook page on Monday May 9, 2014, the letter written by 23-year-old model-actress Deniece Cornejo to President Benigno “Pinoy” Aquino III.
The controversial model Deniece Cornejo celebrates her 23rd birthday in detention on June 1, 2014, where she invited a pastor from a Christian ministry where she belongs “to spread the Word of God and spiritual enrichment of our lives.”
On the other hand, as part of Deniece Cornejo’s birthday celebration inside the jail along with her family members who keeps on supporting her, the model also expressed her grief through writing a letter to President Pnoy over her situation inside the jail.
According to Tony Calvento, Deniece Cornejo said on her letter to President Pnoy, “I’m still an innocent person, even as I have been charged of serious illegal detention, as guaranteed by our Constitution.
The model further added, “I feel I’m entitled to marking these important youthful dates of my life with my family, friends, and relatives who came all the way from America and provinces especially that I’m experiencing difficult times.”
And Deniece Cornejo’s letter also says, “With all due respect I didn’t ask (sic) for any special treatment or privilege. All that I wanted was to hold a Sunday worship and thanksgiving since its Sunday and its family day.”
Meanwhile, Deniece Cornejo clarified that she had no control over her supporters particularly with her guest and other well-wishers, who brought softdrinks and birthday balloons inside her detention cell at the Anti-Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU) of the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Deniece Cornejo further emphasized that she is aware with her limitations and did not leave the premises of CIDG.
However with Deniece Cornejo’s statement presented to President Pnoy, the palace has yet to provide any comment with the model’s explanation.
Deniece Cornejo along with Cedric Lee, his sister Bernice and the businessman’s partners were arrested and charged for serious illegal detention due to the mauling incident happened to 37-year-old actor and “Its Showtime” co-host Vhong Navarro in Forbeswood Condominium, Fort Bonifacio Taguig last January 22, 2014.
