The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced through their official Twitter account that the number coding schemed will be lifted on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in observance of the Philippine Independence Day celebration.
The advisory was issued by MMDA two days before the celebration. They noted that the number coding schemed in all Metro Manila cities is lifted on June 12, 2014.
The Philippines will celebrating the 116th anniversary of Philippine Independence first celebrated by the country’s first-ever President, General Emilio Aguinaldo who declared the country’s independence from Spain.
Based upon the previous declarations of MMDA on the suspension of the number coding scheme in Metro Manila, every time that the national government, the number coding is lifted by the agency.
As part of the national government celebration of the Philippine Independence the country’s top officials will visit the Bicol Region to recognized the region’s contribution to our independence.
The June 12, 2014 Independence Day celebration was already declared by the national government as one of the Regular Holidays, therefore DOLE urged all private employers to abide with the holiday pay rules for a national regular holiday.
