Jennifer Lopez Pulled Out of World Cup 2014 Opening Ceremony

International singing sensation and pop superstar Jennifer Lopez decided has pulled out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony which will be held in Brazil this year, as confirmed by Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) on Sunday.

The confirmation of Jennifer Lopez pulling out of the highly awaited performance in one of the world’s most popular sporting event, FIFA World Cup, was announced four days before the tournament kicks off.

The 44-year-old Jennifer Lopez has already recorded the official World Cup song, “We Are One,” featuring rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte. The group of Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Claudia Leitte is scheduled to perform during the opening ceremony of world’s greatest soccer even in San Paulo.

The official statement of FIFA regarding Jennifer Lopez absence reads, “For production issues, Jennifer Lopez, one of the artists of the official song ‘We Are One,’ will not be able to perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony,” the statement read.

During the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2014, the organizers allots a total of 25 minutes for the opening ceremony alone, featuring 600 artist which includes acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, marshal arts-style capoeira performers, and stilt walkers.

The grand finale of the opening ceremony will be the performance of this year’s theme song “We Are One,” now without Jennifer Lopez. The performance of Pitbull and Claudia Leitti will be accompanied by the popular Brazilian drumming collective Olodum.
