During the last line of the song “Ako’s Sa ‘Yo at Ika’y Akin Lamang,” Coach Bamboo turned his chair to the delight of Rommel Bautista’s father who jump in tears of joy at the backstage.
According to Coach Bamboo, the voice of Rommel Bautista is “Parang honey,” although the pinoy rock icon admitted at first that he was reluctant with Rommel Bautista’s singing voice but the cool, soothing voice of the 13-year-old aspiring singer was just irresistible.
Coach Bamboo added further that “It’s those unique voices na may home sa akin. Ang lamig ng boses mo. Ang sarap pakinggan,” MaƱalac told Bautista. The veteran singer Bamboo also noted that Rommel Bautista’s voice is comparable to The Voice alumnus Myk Perez.
The 13-year-old Rommel Bautista Jr., is the son of a tricycle driver, Rommel Bautista Sr., who according to his father, he doesn’t want his son to experience all the hardship he himself had to go in life. The younger Butista who hails from Tondo joined “The Voice Kids Philippines” in order to help his family.
