The Filipino-Canadian Mikey Bustos made headlines in the United States as his latest video featuring Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” got into the radar of multinational TV networks in the United States such as NBC and ABC.
The 32-year-old Mikey Bustos is currently based in Manila as a contract star of GMA 7, he is also known as the Filipino-Canadian contestant and finalist of the Canadian Idol 2003 wherein he placed as seventh runner-up.

Mikey Bustos made an acapella rendition ofAloe Blacc’s song, the video that went viral online, was shown on Friday and Saturday, in the “Today” segment dubbed “Webstatic,” which spotlights videos that are trending in the Net.
Aside from the “Today” show, the Mikey Bustos video was also shown in the rival show “Good Morning America” on ABC, on Saturday. The Mikey Bustos video was first posted by one of the world’s most popular website “The Huffington Post” they described the video as “mind-blowing (since) all sounds were produced exclusively by (his) mouth or voice.
Mikey Bustos played a total of 14 characters and laid 36 vocal tracks for the video, including guitar and drum sounds. According to Mikey during an interview, to achieve such remarkable rendition, you’ll need a choir of 36 people.
The Filipino-Canadian comedian and YouTube sensation, noted that it took him seven and a half hours to record the song, a day to shoot and edit the video with a total of three days to finish his work, starting from planning, to editing.
