Arnel Pineda, the lead vocalist of American rock band Journey, admitted during his live appearance on ABS-CBN’s morning show, “Umagang Kay Ganda” on Monday, March 24, 2014 that he is battling from asthma.
According to Arnel Pineda, he got depressed when he first learned that he suffering from asthma. He stressed that his condition may had “threaten” his career as a total performer.
During his guest appearance, the 46-year-old artist shared how he battles with the illness every time he performs on stage. He added that his condition get worse on his starting days as the frontman of American rock band, Journey.
“Kapag nasa likod ng stage bago ako mag-perform, marami na akong paraphernalia diyan. Meron akong mga hinihigop para lumuwag ‘yung airways ko,” Arnel Pineda said citing as one of his preparations backstage.
Arnel Pineda also gave his advice for all the aspiring singers battling with asthma.
“Yung mga may asthma huwag sila mawawalan ng pag-asa. Ngayon sa dami ng magagaling na doctors and available na gamot, manageable na siya eh,” Arnel Pineda further added.
The critically acclaimed artist came to prominence as the elite vocalist of American rock band Journey which popularizes various hits including Faithfully, Don’t Stop Believin, Open Arms and among others.
Arnel Pineda is the former lead vocalist of Filipino rock-band “The Zoo” formed in 20006 where he started to garner attention for his spectacular rendition of various cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ic hits which include the award-winning singles of Journey.
