Filipino-American singer Malaya Watson has entered the Top 9 finalists of American Idol 2014 Season 13 following the elimination of MK Nobilette from the world’s most popular singing competition.
During the live performances of the Top 10 finalists, the 16-year-old Tuba player from Michigan has amazed the audience and the judges with her soulful rendition of Bruno Mars’ Billboard hit single, “When I Was Your Man.”
Malaya Watson and other contestants dominated on the prestigious competition upon performing the songs from Billboard top hits. Aside from Malaya Watson, Alex Preston drawn cheers and applause from the audience garnering a standing ovation with his rendition of One Direction’s single, “Story of My Life.”

Meanwhile, MK Nobilette a native from California, failed to proceed on the next round of American Idol following her elimination from the competition.
The judges which include Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban complemented on the recent performance of MK Nobilette. The 21-year-old aspiring singer failed to amaze the judges with her rendition of “Perfect” by Pink.
MK Nobilette is the first “openly gay” finalist to the American Idol history who was able to clinched on the Top 10.
Aside from MK Nobilette, Dexter Roberts who performed Cruise by Florida Georgia Line and Majesty Rose who performed Avicii’s hit single “Wake Me Up” were placed in the bottom 3 during the elimination.
The remaining finalists has secured a ticket for the upcoming concert tour of American Idol finalists which will kick off this summer in selected areas in United States.
