Eat Bulaga mainstay and veteran comedian Jose Manalo aired his official statement regarding the latest controversy involving his family particularly the alleged suicide attempt by one of his daughter on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

According to a news report posted on ABS-CBN News, the comedian was quoted as saying that he is “deeply saddened by the recent reports that one of his daughters attempted to take her own life, allegedly because of his refusal to send her to her choice of school.” he said.
The 48-year-old Jose Manalo also denied the allegations thrown against him that he is not supporting his daughter. He noted that he has been “providing, and will continue to provide his children such support to the best of his ability.” Jose Manalo stated.
Jose Manalo clarified also during the interview that, upon his request, part of his pay as co-host of “Eat Bulaga,” is automatically remitted to the respective schools of his children with his estranged wife, Anna Lyn.
Meanwhile according to the camp of Jose Manalo, they noted that “Contrary to the baseless allegations being made against him, Jose has been diligently observing and following the orders of the Court as regards the support requested by Anna Lyn and their children,” as they refer to an earlier legal battle between Jose Manalo and his wife.
The controversial suicide of Jose Manalo’s daughter was revealed to the media on Wednesday. According to Atty. Dennis Pangan, the lawyer representing Jose Manalo’s 17-year-old daughter, who allegedly attempted suicide. The lawyer stated on Thursday that his client, Jose Manalo’s daughter left a letter where she supposedly lamented Manalo’s neglect of her and her siblings.
The daughter of Jose Manalo also mentioned in her letter how her father failed to fulfill his promise to pay her tuition fee. Before the alleged suicide of Jose Manalo’s daughter, he was already accused with child abuse charges.
In the latter part of the interview, Jose Manalo expressed his sadness with the latest controversy involving his family. He felt sad “that Anna Lyn has resorted to such measures and allowed this to happen, and even made public statements as regards the condition of their children.” he said.
