The Aswang episode of NBC’s “Grimm” has topped the US television ratings which grabbed the number 1 spot during its TV premiere last March 7, 2014.
The Filipino folklore dominated in the United States TV ratings which also features Filipino-American actor Reggie Lee on the Aswang -themed episode titled “Mommy Dearest.”
Aside from its nationwide rating, Grimm’s Aswang episode also made a spectacular and grandeur impressions from the netizens which include the people in various social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Reggie Lee, a native from Quezon City Philippines, hopes that there will be more episode that will feature traditional Filipino beliefs. The episode featured the belief on “Aswang,” “Kapre,” “Tikbalang,” and “Duwende”
“I’m so grateful that the creators of ‘Grimm’ decided to use my actual heritage to introduce my character to the ‘creature world,” Reggie Lee, who portrays the role of Sergeant Wu said in a recent interview with Inquirer.net.
Aswang is being dubbed as the “most scariest monster” featured on the hit US TV series which already staged humans which turns into mythical creatures called “wesens.”
In a traditional Filipino cultures, Aswang is believed to be a monster creature which who haunts over its pregnant victims. The Aswang is known for its appearance having a long-pointed tongue which then preyed on fetus’ amniotic acid.
The recent episode of Grimm series also stars with powerhouse actors and actresses including David Giuntoli, Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch and Reggie Lee.
