Fil-Am Actor Reggie Lee Stars in “Aswang” Episode on “Grimm”

Filipino American actor Reggie Lee stars in the “Mommy Dearest” episode of NBC’s Grim featuring “aswang” which airs on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. (US Time).

“This is a story that has been told over and over again within my family and my friends’ families in the Philippines,” Reggie Lee said in an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Reggie Lee, a Fil-Am actor from Quezon City, a regular character on the drama-fantasy-horror series of Grimm portrays the role of Sergeant Wu.

Reggie Lee also shared that he suggested the “aswang” episode of the TV series. The latest episode will feature a Philippine folklore belief on a mythological monster that steals babies from the wombs of pregnant women.

Reggie Lee added that he had a great inclination toward Philippine folklore. The Filipino-American actor has also starred with various Hollywood films including “Here Comes the Boom (with Charice Pempengco), “Drag Me To Hell” and “Crazy, Stupid Love.”

On the other hand, Reggie Lee thanked the creators of “Grimm” for use the Filipino folklore in US-based television. The “Pirates of the Carribean” actor was also grateful for introducing the traditional belief among Filipinos.

Grimm’s “Mommy Dearest” episode featuring aswang also stars with David Giuntoli, Russell Hornsby and Bitsie Tulloch. The episode is written by Brenna Kouf and directed by Norberto Barba.

Filipino-American actor Reggie Lee, is one of the powerhouse actors of Grimm series who stars on the supernatural drama since 2011.
