Julius Babao issued a statement regarding the “flesh-eating disease” covered by ABS-CBN’s late-night news program “Bandila” which turned out as a hoax in Pangasinan.
Julius Babao stressed the flesh-eating report was not intended to sow fear on the public particularly the netizens who watched the exclusive video as the “mysterious disease” reportedly spreading in the province of Pangasinan.
“It is not the program’s intention to scare the public but to report the information we gathered so that authorities would give appropriate action,” Julius Babao said in Filipino on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 on Bandila.
Based on the investigative report conducted by ABS-CBN News, two patients namely Claire from Santa Barbara and Joseph from Villasis, Pangasinan are suffering from the mysterious “flesh-eating disease.”
However, it has been proven by the Department of Health (DOH) Executive Anna De Guzman, that the two patients from Pangasinan are suffering from leprosy and psoriasis.
It was also found-out that the two alleged victims are on the agony of simultaneous complications. The two are now being treated in a local hospital in Pangasinan.
The flesh-eating disease report courtesy of Bandila is said to be the fulfillment of the prophecy of Indian Prophet Sadhu who recently gave his prediction about the disease which would start in Pangasinan and spread all over the world.
Meanwhile, the hashtag #PrayForPangasinan trended on Twitter earlier with the hope of Filipinos online for the recovery of the alleged victims of “flesh-eating disease.”
