According to Malacañang there will be work in offices in various government and private companies citing Proclamation 655 series of 2013, Presidential Communications Operations Office Head Hermino Coloma Jr., stressed that “(W)alang pasok sa lahat ng paaralan, lahat ng antas at ito ay isang regular working day.” he said.

The original EDSA-1 revolution is considered as the first people power uprising worldwide, Filipinos ousted former President Ferdinand Marcos and installed former President Corazon Aquino, the mother of the current Philippine President, Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III.

The EDSA anniversary for the year 2014, the national government announced that this year’s celebration is unique because it will be held outside Metro Manila, with the traditional “Salubungan” in Cebu City.

One of the reason why the Palace choose the City of Cebu for the first-ever EDSA anniversary celebration is because of Cebu’s participation of the event. During the uprising, Cebu had been the bulwark of the opposition, former Pres. Cory Aquino stayed at Cebu City when the military withdrew support for Marcos.

Meanwhile Malacanang clarified only cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in schools will be suspended for the 28th anniversary of EDSA while work in government and private offices are not covered by the suspension order by the Palace.
