The transfer of Diputado from Mendiola to Sampaloc-based squad was confirmed by NU head coach Eric Altamirano. The prolific guard will shore up the backcourt rotation of the Bulldogs, who lost Robin Roño and Bobby Ray Parks.

“He will add depth in our point guard position,” Altamirano said (Statement from Spin.ph)

The former national team member averaged 14.9 points 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists per game last NCAA season, while helping San Beda juniors to capture its fifth consecutive title.

Coming from non-UAAP school, Diputado has also the luxury to play right this year had he makes the Bulldogs’ line up as he is not under the league’s new two-year residency rule on high school graduates.

Fellow NCAA star and Red Cub junior’s team member Arvin Tolentino also made the same move from NCAA to the other league after committing to Ateneo for this season.

Rev Diputado will be playing against he best players in the country playing for the UAAP this coming season, he will join forces with some veterans of the National University Bulldogs.

As a former top scorer for the NCAA Juniors netizens and basketball fans already speculated that he will join the senior team of San Beda but his commitment with the UAAP will put more pressure on him according to basketball enthusiasts.
