In an interview to Spin.ph, Arvin Tolentino a high school prospect out of San Beda Red Cubs program confirmed his decision to join to the UAAP five-feat champion squad.

“Yes po, nag-commit na po ako (sa Ateneo). It was a decision I made and after a long dialogue with my family and friends, I’ve decided to transfer,” said the 17-year old baller who is also been eyed by La Salle, National University and San Beda itself.

Tolentino who helped the Red Cubs captured their fifth consecutive title also received invitations from US NCAA teams, Duke and University of Rhode Island to try out for them.

With his transfer, the 6-4 forward is expected to strengthen the frontline of Ateneo, which lost Frank Golla and JP Erram to graduation.

Teaming up with each other, Ravena and Tolentino, both Fiba Asia 3-on-3 U-18 campaigners are expected to boost Katipunan’s bid this season 76 despite having a major revamping this year.

Also been recruited by the Blue Eagles are Hope Christian High School Clinth Doliguez and another big man John Apacible.

Ateneo is not done yet, and is said to be having talks with some more inbound rookies.
