The Ocean Adventure in Subic Bay, Olongapo City drew netizens ire and received flak on social media after a stunt involving a dolphin in a marriage proposal went viral online.

A set of photos posted on the official Facebook Page of the theme park featuring a happy couple seen posing with dolphin and the the words “Will You Marry Me Rona?” painted on the animal’s belly caught the attentions of netizens.
The viral photo was already taken down by the admin of the Facebook page but some copies were already posted by some netizens on their personal Facebook account. Although there are people close to the couple congratulated them but most netizens shared negative comments with the photo.
Although the theme park posted on their disclosure that the “material used for the dolphin is zinc oxide – sun protection and moisturizer applicable for dolphin, the company could not stop netizens on saying negative words to the theme park.
The marriage proposals using a dolphin is common to other countries but in the Philippines it is uncommon for Filipinos especially putting some materials on the dolphins body. Most Filipino environmentalist disagree with the acts made by the couple.
Dolphins are uncommon to the Philippines, it is only visible in some of the country’s most popular tourist destination particularly in the Subic Bay areas.
