Former PBA MVP James Yap led the Mixers with a total of 30 points in one of the most well-attended PBA game featuring a total of 24,883 spectators at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Aside from James Yap’s prolific performance in Game 7 of the semi-finals series against Ginebra, supporting the two-time MVP are veterans PBA players PJ Simon and Rafi Reavis.

The Coffee Mixers stretched their lead to 21 points before the final two minutes of the game ending Ginebra’s hope of making it to the finals of the PBA Philippine Cup despite the presence of their solid twin towers in the person of rookie Greg Slaughter and Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Japeth Aguilar.

Veteran Ginebra player Mark Caguioa topscored for Ginebra with a total of 23 points but his teammates failed to deliver the goods and support especially in the scoring department. Gilas Pilipinas point guard and Jones Cup MVP LA Tenorio added with 16 points while high-flying Chris Ellis only scored with 4 points in the entire game.

The Game 1 of the PBA All-Filipino Cup Finals will be on Friday, with San Mig Coffee set to face the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on their Best-of-Seven Finals series.
