Toni and Piolo’s first Big Screen team up After 13 years since Toni and Piolo shared a TV ad , finally the two went on Big screen. Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual rekindles their TV ad with the latest Star Cinema movie, “Starting Over Again.”
The Olivia M. Lamasan film titled “Starting Over Again” produced by Star Cinema is a romantic-comedy movie. The lady director had already directed a lot of successful movies in star cinema such as In my life, In The Name of Love and The Mistress.
In the movie, Ginny (Toni Gonzaga) plays as a happy girl and she would do anything until Marco (Piolo Pascual) will notice her. The two gets closer until they become lovers and suddenly Ginny leaves him without any reasons. Fast forward to the present life, Toni and Piolo meet again and they worked in the same restaurant.
“Starting Over Again” is a movie of regrets and second chances and how love will change you in different ways. On “Buzz ng Bayan”, Toni admitted that she had a hard time doing the movie because she is far different from the role that she is portraying.
“Ang hirap nung struggle ng character ni Ginny kasi hindi ako ganun. Sabi ko kay Inang (director Olivia M. Lamasan), ‘Inang, hindi ko kayang gawin ‘yung ibang eksenang pinapagawa mo kasi hindi naman ako ganun kadesperada sa totoong buhay.’ Kasi lagi kong iniisip, may babae ba talagang ganito? May babae bang gagawa nito, maghahabol, magmamakaawa?” she shared.
Toni also realized that when you really love a person, you should fight for him or else you’ll regret in the end. Piolo Pascual also shared how Toni has improved and became a very good actress. He was also glad that after 13 years when they worked in the same TV ad, they’ve got the chance to work on the same project again.
“Starting Over Again” is a part of Star Cinema’s 20th Anniversary and It opens in cinemas on Feb. 12, 2014.
