DOLE: 200,000 Expected Job Hiring and Vacancy for UAE

The Department of Labor and Employment announced on Thursday, February 6, 2014, that there will be an expected 200,000 job vacancies for Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates in the next few days.

According to DOLE thousands of jobs in the hospitality sectors are expected to open ahead of the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, one of the major destinations for business and leisure in the Middle East.

DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz made the announcement of possible vacancies for Filipinos in the UAE by citing a report from the Office of the Middle East and African Affairs (OMEAA) of the Department of Foreign Affairs on the prospects of jobs expected to be created in the UAE.

The job vacancies for Filipinos are expected by the Philippine government after Dubai successfully won the bidding as host of the 2020 World Exposition.

Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz was quoted as saying “The report said jobs will be created in the construction, real estate, hospitality, aviation, retail, and services sector in the UAE,” said Baldoz.

According to the POEA, both the low-level and professional jobs will be in demand, although the agency expected the huge influx of applicants for Dubai vacancies, they reminded the Filipino workers who are willing to work for UAE to make sure that their employment is legal.
