The Philippine show business industry leaders condemns the mauling incident involving one of their member, the actor and TV host Vhong Navarro last January 22, 2014.
According to a news report posted by Pep.Ph, the icons of the Philippine movie and TV industry has written a letter signed by its members and supported the moves of Vhong Navarro to find justice for him after he was attacked and hospitalized.
The showbiz industry leaders also urged various government agencies to work hard and “put an end to the thriving culture of violence and impunity and diminishing sense of humanity in our country.” they stated.
Vhong Navarro claimed that he is a victim of torture and extortion by the group of individual he identified during an exclusive interview with Buzz ng Bayan. The 37-year-old Vhong Navarro has already filed a case against the accused Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee and his companion.
The showbiz world was shocked when the news came out to the media that one of its members became a victim of injustice. In this connection the industry made a strong statement through a letter.

“On January 24, 2014 the entire Philippine entertainment industry was shocked to learn of the horrible incident involving TV host-actor Vhong Navarro.
“No one has any right to inflict torture on anyone regardless of his economic or social standing in society. Let the law prevail, let the court decide.
“In view of this, the undersigned leaders and officers representing the various sectors of the Philippine entertainment industry, unilaterally regret and denounce the brutal attack against our colleague, Mr. Navarro.
“We likewise express full support in his plea for justice.
“We fervently urge the concerned government agencies to put an end to the thriving culture of violence and impunity and diminishing sense of humanity in our country.”
