Perpetual help outlasted finals rival Emilio Aguinaldo College in a stirring five setter, 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 23-25, 15-13 to clinch its fourth straight championship in the NCAA season 89 men’s volleyball tournament on Monday at the FilOil Flying V arena in San Juan.

The feat was a repeat of last year as the Perpetual denied EAC again to continue its dominance in the tournament. It also extended the amazing winning streak of the school to 47 games in three years.
Team captain Jay de la Cruz, who is also the season’s MVP pumped in 24 points while Edmar Sanchez and Bonjomar Castel added 14 markers each for the triumphant Altas.
Howard Mojica on the other hand had a huge 41-point performance for the Generals on a losing effort.
Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Arellano Lady Chiefs force a rubber match game 3 after thumping defending champions Perpetual Lady Altas in straight sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-6.
Cristine Rosario had 13 hits while Menchie Tubiera had 12 points for the Lady Chiefs, who are first time finalists in the tournament.
The title decider is set on Thursday at 11:30 am still at the same venue.
