Alyssa Valdez and Ella De Jesus came up big as Ateneo Lady Eagles outlasted Adamson Lady Falcons in a dramatic five-setter, 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 18-25, 15-13 to secure the solo third spot in the UAAP volleyball tournament on Saturday at the FilOil Flying V arena.

Valdez fired 26 points, including 19 attacks and three service aces while De Jesus scored 13 points for the Lady Eagles, who welcome the return of their Thai mentor Anusorn Bundit with a huge win.
Amy Ahomiro also chipped in 11 markers for the Lady Eagles, which improved to 7-4
On a free fall after its rival seized a 13-10 advantage in the fifth set, Ateneo sneaked the last five points of the match, thanks to the Adamson’s three straight errors and Valdez’s block and game-clinching hit.
Shiela Pineda top scored with 25 points while Mayette Zapanta and Mylene Paat contributed 16 and 11 markers for Adamson, which fell to fifth place with 5-6 record.
