Philippine Azkals to Face Malaysia in March 1, 2014

The Philippine national football team, Philippine Azkals will face the Malaysian national football team this coming March 2014 as part of the country’s preparation for the upcoming 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives.

The Philippines vs. Malaysia football match is part of the FIFA International Friendly matches sanctioned by the international football (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation. The game will held this coming March 1, 2014 at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.

The Philippine Football Federation through their official website confirmed the news through a press release on their official website. The Azkals vs. Malaysia game is the third meeting of the two Southeast Asian football powerhouse teams since the year 2012.

The Philippine Azkals first met Malaysia on February 2012 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium with the final score ending in a draw, the game also features the first international goal of Azkals Denis Wolf.

During their second encounter the game ended with a scoreless draw in the game held at Malaysia’s Shah Alam Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

The Philippines will also parade their newest coach after the management of the Azkals sacked their former coach Hans Michael Weiss, the German coach who brought the Philippine Azkals into greater heights. The Azkals is currently in the process of selecting Michael Weiss replacement coach.
